Lidocaine is aimed to exercise an analgesic-local anaesthetic action in the oral cavity and pharynx region that enhances the antiseptic (and slight local anaesthetic) effect of amylmetacresol and 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol while ascorbic acid provides a source of vitamin C, which may be beneficial during infection when vitamin C levels are believed to fall, preventing and treating acute upper respiratory tract infections in adults and children.
